Putter Fitting FAQs
How putter fitting works, what we measure, what to bring and the difference between fitting, lessons and PuttStudio training.
Book a Putter FittingWhat is a putter fitting?
A putter fitting measures your current setup, stroke and ball roll, then compares different putter specifications and setups to determine what performs best.
How long does a putter fitting take?
The Basic Putter Fitting is 30 minutes for $100. The Professional Putter Fitting is 60 minutes for $150 and provides more time for analysis and equipment testing.
What technology do you use?
The Putt Lab combines SAM PuttLab, SAM PuttStudio and SAM BalanceLab to measure the putter, the ball and pressure/balance patterns.
What does SAM PuttLab measure?
SAM PuttLab measures 70+ putting parameters including face angle, path, rotation, timing, loft, lie and consistency.
What does SAM PuttStudio add?
PuttStudio tracks start direction, skid, roll, pace and ball behavior while projecting visual feedback and training tools onto the putting surface.
What does SAM BalanceLab show?
BalanceLab measures pressure distribution and movement patterns so we can see whether stability or pressure changes are affecting the stroke.
Should I bring my current putter?
Yes. Your current putter provides a baseline and helps the fitter compare any changes in aim, roll, setup and consistency.
What can be changed during a fitting?
Depending on the putter and fitting result, we can evaluate head style, alignment, length, loft, lie, shaft, grip and overall setup.
What is the difference between a fitting and a putting lesson?
A fitting focuses primarily on equipment and specifications. A lesson focuses primarily on your technique, aim, face control, pace, tempo and movement.
Can I practice in PuttStudio without doing a full fitting?
Yes. PuttStudio training sessions are available separately for golfers who want visual feedback and practice drills.
